7 things you heard in 2009
2009 a year of Operating Systems, social networking and animation
This year we heard about the release of 3 Operating Systems. 2 “updates” and 1 brand new. We all heard about Google Wave, this private apps which made us languish and now everyone can provide invitations no one wants ! And finally we must talk about Twitter and jQuery.
1. Microsoft Windows Seven
Yes it’s unavoidable you certainly heard about Windows Seven the new OS from Microsoft. The one that will make us forget the mediocrity of Vista. It’s true this is a good OS, better than Vista in my opinion and certainly more beautiful than XP.
2. Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala
You certainly read about the new Ubuntu release, Karmic Koala, a version even better of the powerful Ubuntu ! Faster, smoother, more beautiful, personal could included all free. Is that not a dream for us ?
3. Google Chromium OS
I’ve blogged about Google OS a few days ago. Google Chromium OS is the new OS provided by Google. This has the same style of Google Chrome but it’s better. Yes, it is better because it is a whole system behind this very simple interface. Google Chrome OS is an easy to use and a secure operating system for these reasons, we will not be able to install whatever we want by security concerns.
4. The Go Programming Language
Go is a new programming language developed by Google. As Google says, Go is simple, fast, safe, concurrent, fun and Open-Source ! I suggest you to read more about Go here and here.
5. Google Wave or Google Trap ?
Who didn’t hear about Google Wave ? You know this new Google Application which, in theory, is a really good networking tool. Pleasant to use, easy to understand and for free (it’s Google remember 
). The negative thing is that everyone wanted an invitation but almost no one could provide. And now everyone have his invitation no one uses it. If you didn’t have your invitation yet i can provide you one.
6. Twitter
That is the website of the year ! If you don’t use Twitter you’re not up to date ! Everyone uses it, for personal, for an enterprise, for a website or a blog, for marketing, for personal branding, etc… Twitter lets you share these little things that doesn’t need an entry. At the beginning I was not favorable to Twitter because I didn’t understood the goal. But after trying it I can say it is really useful ! It’s the moment I tell you Don’t forget to Follow me 
Don’t forget Twitter is not just the website it is also a culmination of applications, web services and the network behind the website and that is wonderful !
7. jQuery
That is a great trend of 2009 ! Every developer Blog has talked about jQuery or a plugin using jQuery. It’s really an useful JavaScript framework that lets you make easily advanced javascript effects. This is present on several websites and more and more blog are using it too.
