Yes ! You heard well “Google” & “OS”. A new field where Google is going to menace Microsoft and the well-known Windows ! Actually this is far of the truth because the Google OS (GOS) ’s goals are to be simple and secure as possible. That’s definitely an OS destined for netbooks or perhaps laptops. As said in the beginning of this post GOS has the Google Chrome look. There is a reason for that. The reason is Google Chrome have a really simple and easy-to-use interface. If you associate it with an OS this gives GOS.
Installing GOS for real ?
Not for real. I’ll use VirtualBox to show you how it works. VirtualBox is an emulator of a computer. In other words this is a computer into your computer ! You can download the last version for your OS there.

Now enter a name for your new virtual machine. Select Linux as the Operating System and Ubuntu as the version. Then hit Next.
Now you choose how tall will be your memory allocated to the virtual machine. I advice you don’t take more than 512Mo unless you have a really performing computer. Hit Next to continue.
The wizard ask you know if you prefer create a new hard disk or if you prefer choose an existing one. Choose the second option and a new windows appears by hitting the folder icon.
Hit Add and select you earlier downloaded Google OS image. When you’ve found it you can Open it.
Hit Select once you’ve left the window. And you should come back to the wizard.
Be sure you’ve checked Use existing hard disk and hit Next.

Use Google OS
Now we can use our brand new OS with VirtualBox. In the VirtualBox Main page select Google OS and Start it !
You should now have a new window with the login interface. Enter your gmail account (with a qwerty keyboard
) and you password associated. Use the Tab key to go from the login field to the password field. When you’re ready press the Enter key.
Now Google OS is starting. Wait a few seconds and you’ll see the awesome interface of Google OS substantially the same as Google Chrome. With the most used applications as thumbnails and a direct tab with your GMail page.
